Abbott is one of the world's largest producers of stainless steel balls, which we stock in a variety of alloy grades and sizes. Our standard sizes range from 2mm (.07874") to 5/8" (15.88mm), with tolerance as close as 0.0001" (.0025mm) on roundness and size.
Carburized steel is also used in a significant portion of our output. We heat treat carbon balls to achieve specified hardness and case depth. Several other metals, with unique properties for specific needs, are also available at Abbott.

Abbott has a special department devoted to the manufacture of precious metal balls- gold, silver, platinum, palladium, titanium or specialized alloys- for uses such as electrical contacts, switches, relays, brazing and jewelry.
All our processes and policies are designed to provide maximum quality. Defects are so rare that we measure them in parts per million- and we won't be satisfied until we find none.
Every ball passes through exacting inspections that automatically detect and remove off-spec balls. Significant random samples are tested for hardness and examined microscopically for structure and finish.
